Compare screen-awake tools
Screen-awake tools use different mechanisms. AwakeTab requests the standard browser API and reports the returned state. Native utilities may have broader system access; extensions may continue in contexts where an ordinary tab cannot.
Comparisons focus on mechanism, permissions, privacy, installation, battery impact and failure visibility. They do not award points for synthetic input or misleading claims about chat presence.
AwakeTab never claims to work in a hidden tab, keep Teams or Slack “Available”, prevent sleep after
closing a laptop lid, or simulate mouse and keyboard input.
